What worries me in the USA?

 

What scares foreigners most about the United States?

1. Getting sick or needing any care.
   
   I got food poisoning in Texas once. No treatment at all but I lay in a bed for a few hours. The bill was for $ 22,000. Quebec health care paid $ 420, and my travel insurance the rest. They refused to sell me travel insurance the next year.
2. Guns -
   
   I have ridden in too many of my salesmen’s cars in southern USA with guns “everywhere”. One bragged that he had five guns hidden in his car.
3. Forgotten guns
   
   A taxi driver shot himself in the bum as he moved in his seat just before entering the airport. I sat in the other front seat. The gun that fired was forgotten between the seats by his night driver. The driver showed me his own gun too. It was in a vest holster, like this
4. 
   
    - An ambulance took him from the airport where I was let off.
   
   I have never been in the front seat of a hired car since then - and try to avoid taxis and limos in the USA as much as possible.
5. Come think of it, I never go to they USA any more. My 35 years of frequent travel has thoroughly convinced me not to go there. The poverty and poor treatment of the common man is horrifying.
6. AND, worry may all Amercians - As a Canadian I go waaaay out of my way NEVER to buy anything made in USA - But you didn’t ask about that.
